dmoz Google MSN Paid Submission to the search engines Submitting to GoogleSubmitting your web site to Google is a simple operation. Follow these easy steps, and you will be submitted before you know it. Go to Google. Click on About Google at the bottom. The About Google page is a page full of links. Look on the right side for "For Site Owners." In that category, you will find a link named Submit Your Content to Google. Click on Submit Your Content to Google. The Submit Your Content to Google page is another page of links. The first category is Web. There are three links in the Web category. The first one is Add Your URL. Click on Add Your URL. The Add Your URL contains a box for your URL or web address. Make sure that you use the "http://" or the "http://www."prefixes. For example, the address of To Make a Site is http://tomakeasite.com and http://www.tomakeasite.com. Those are more formal addresses than just typing tomakeasite.com. You can leave the Comments box alone. If your site is special and cannot be indexed by Google properly, then you can leave a note to let them know. Otherwise, leave the Comments box blank. The last box is optional. Google wants to know who is submitting sites by hand and who is using a robot or automatic program. They have a policy against robots and any type of automated submission. They ask that you type in the letters that you see in the box at the bottom. Robots can't do that. Although the last box is optional, it can't hurt you to do it. It will distinguish your submission from the submissions from robots. That's a good thing, since Google doesn't like robots, and you want Google to like you. Now it is time to press the Add URL button. Once you press it, Google will know about your site. Google will come and index it, and it will find all of your pages. You don't have to submit every page. As long as you submit your home page, Google will find the rest. That's all there is too it. It takes about five minutes, and there is no better way to submit to Google. |
