Our philosophy is that the name of our site should be the same as our domain name. Why? Two reasons. One reason is so that it is easy for people to remember our site. The second reason is more important: search engine ranking. We want to rank high for the term "To Make A Site." We did some research on the terms that people use when they want to find a site like ours. Of the names that were available, To Make A Site was selected because it is easy to spell and it is a common search term. Think about it. If you want info on making a site, you might search for "how to make a site" or "steps to make a site" or "ways to make a site" or a million other combinations that use all or part of our domain name and site name. Our domain name is the best advertising in the world. You should consider purchasing a Domain Name that will help draw visitors to your site. Search engines consider the domain name to be very important. Also, it is about the only part of your site that you cannot change easily. Choose wisely. By the way, after you establish your site, you don't want to change your domain name, if you can avoid it. If you change it, the search engines will lose track of you. You will lose all your traffic. After the search engines find you again, they won't send you all of the traffic that you used to get. They will consider you to be a new site. You will have to work very hard to regain your old traffic. So choose well. You want to get it right the first time.
